With 3D televisions on the horizon for 2010, the question “How will consumers receive 3D content?” is looming over the head’s of the tech-savvy. Outside of the new blu-ray players slated for release with the first generation of 3D televisions, there has been little talk of other 3D content options. But CableLabs is on top of the emerging market and will be demonstrating, for the first time ever, the transmissions of synchronized HD stereoscopic 3D video signals over a single cable channel on a real cable system at the Cable-Tec Expo Denver, CO. Satellite companies had better be sinking some major funds into R&D or they will find themselves with little to no market share in the early years of the next decade.
