3M to perform a 3D “conoscopy” on your display…

Now this is the kind of stuff that gets the guys over here at Third really excited about the prospects of our industry. We all know in the near future 3D will be viewable without any form of eyewear. Well a 3M subsidiary from Japan this week showed off 9in and 2.8in LCD panels that allow the viewer to see a 3D without glasses! A Japanese site Tech-On reports about this new technology, that will involved a special film and a technique called conoscopy that uses the illumination from the backlight to feed the eye different portions of the screen.
