3D cable TV service to be offered by Virgin Media, Nov 17th!

It seems the Virgin Media demo last week of 3D cable TV wasn’t just a ploy to get people talking about their other services, but true dedicated programming that will be offered in a “similar way to how HD services are offered” starting on November 17th.  The content will be delivered in the ‘video on demand’ format according to Neil Berkett, CEO of Virgin Media.

The old red and blue glasses will be required. Other hardware requirements are unclear as to the type of TVs that can view this content, or if other 3D viewing methods / glasses could work as well.
